For Example, I heard a story on utility deregulation on Morning Edition on January 1, 2003. On NPR’s web page I selected Morning Edition, and the date, and found the story, slugged “Utility Deregulation Backfires in California, Nevada”

with this link: http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/me/20030101.me.07.ram . This link can be copied and e-mailed to a friend, as a sort of hi-tech newspaper clipping.
